Training: B.S in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University; B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University; MPH in Epidemiology from Georgia State University; Previous work in clinical and community based participatory research at the CDC, Morehouse School of Medicine and Emory School of Medicine on various research projects focusing on the prevention of HIV/AIDS, childhood obesity, cardiovascular disease, mental disorders and maternal substance abuse.
Research Focus: My work aims to understand how structural factors predict health outcomes and the social supports and stressors that can impact that relationship. My research will focus on the relationship between structural factors, depression and cardiovascular disease incidence among women of color.
