Research Focus: My research interests encompass using large datasets to study the social determinants of health, health disparities, and health services utilization in the context of chronic disease, in particular diseases of aging. I have experience using large, nationally representative surveys and linked data routinely collected in the Canadian health care system (e.g., health administrative data, vital statistics, lab data, electronic medical records) to study trends and disparities in premature and avoidable mortality and examine disparities in risk factors and health care access and utilization in patients with cardiovascular disease.
