Dr. MacCallum-Bridges’ research focuses primarily on the impact of public policy on population health and health equity. During her doctoral studies, Dr. MacCallum-Bridges contributed to investigation of the impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) on women’s reproductive health, pregnancy health, and pregnancy outcomes. Her most recent work in this area investigated the impact of the ACA on prevalence of unintended pregnancy with a focus on the impact’s magnitude, mechanism, and implications for health equity. Dr. MacCallum-Bridges just joined the Michigan COVID-19 Recovery Surveillance Study (MI CReSS) as a postdoctoral research fellow where she will be focusing on impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
