This talk will focus on Mn neurotoxicity, addressing (1) its transport mechanism, and (2) genetic factors that contribute to the susceptibility of dopaminergic neurons to this metal. The studies take advantage of C. elegans as a model for dissecting the transport and neurodegenerative mechanisms.
