Graduate and Undergraduate students welcome. Register for up to two sessions you are interested in attending: A presentation with the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services: The MDHHS determines eligibility for public assistance programs such as Medicaid, Food Assistance, Cash Assistance, Child Day Care, and Emergency Assistance for Michigan residents based on the county they reside in. Alice Seipelt from the Washtenaw County DHHS office will provide general information on the various forms of assistance programs, the application process, and eligibility requirements. A presentation with Mark Munzenberger, Financial Education Specialist from the U-M Credit Union: Munzenberger will provide key concepts of financial health and money management strategies to avoid common money mistakes. His session, Achieving Financial Fitness, will focus on 1) The importance of using a spending plan (budget), with tools and tips, 2) How to establish and use credit, and 3) Discuss how smart spending starts in college. Create Your Own Budget - This is unstructured time to organize your finances. We encourage you to bring your own laptop and a calculator. Registration is appreciated - lunch will be provided.
