We are delighted to announce that the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine (CBSSM) Research Colloquium will occur on May 22, 2019 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.). It will take place at Forum Hall, Palmer Commons, 100 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. The CBSSM Research Colloquium will feature the Bishop Lecture in Bioethics as the keynote address. Ruha Benjamin, PhD, will present the Bishop Lecture with a talk entitled: "Black Afterlives Matter: Reimagining Bioethics for an Ailing Body Politic." The lecture is jointly presented by CBSSM and the Ronald C. and Nancy V. Bishop Lectureship in Bioethics fund. We are also grateful to this year's co-sponsors, The Institute for Research on Women and Gender (IRWG) and the Science, Technology & Society (STS) Program. Abstract submissions are welcome from all disciplines both within UM, as well as other institutions. The CBSSM Research Colloquium brings together presenters highlighting research related to bioethics, health communication, and medical decision making.
