CRLT Seminar Room (1013 Palmer Commons)
Designing and supporting student teams can be tricky, especially when considering the range of identities, experiences, abilities, and personalities in our classrooms. Even so, research shows that when students learn alongside with diverse peers their teams generate better solutions to problems and they demonstrate enhanced critical thinking skills. In this interactive session, instructors will discuss their experiences using teams, brainstorm strategies for preventing and mitigating problematic team dynamics, and gain insights from their colleagues and educational research.
