Air Quality, Environmental and Social Justice: Tour of the Gordie Howe International Bridge/Air Quality, October 22. 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. This tour of the Gordie Howe International Bridge will focus on land use decisions and implications for air quality and other environmental hazards as environmental and social justice issues. We will learn about community organizing efforts related to the bridge, and efforts to mitigate adverse health impacts associated with GHIB construction and operations.

The tour will be led by Simone Sagovac, Project Director from the Southwest Detroit Community Benefits Coalition and Cindy Gamboa, Advocacy Director from Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation, with contributions from Stuart Batterman, Environmental Health Sciences and Amy Schulz, Health Behavior and Health Education, UM SPH, and Felix Valbuena, MD, CEO CHASS Clinic.
