The purpose of this workshop is to inform participants about the potential impacts of vicarious trauma and burnout when engaged in advocacy and social justice work for vulnerable groups and communities. Given that many students within SPH—especially those that hold a minority identity—desire to create equitable change for vulnerable communities, this workshop will serve as an opportunity for students to learn and build better self-care practices so that they are able to maintain a healthy wellbeing while assisting these communities to achieve equitable health outcomes.
