  • Research focuses on work-related musculoskeletal disorders, biological monitoring of chemical exposures, occupational neurological disease, and occupational respiratory disease. Can talk about health effects of oil spills and work-related threats.
  • Recent studies have examined cost-effectiveness of pre-placement nerve testing for carpal tunnel syndrome, hypersensitivity pneumonitis among workers exposed to metal removal fluids, and asthma following household exposure to hydrofluoric acid.
  • Teaches ergonomic and injury prevention seminars; has active practice in clinical occupational medicine.
  • Became associate dean for research at the UM School of Public Health on January 1, 2011. Also has UM appointments as associate professor of emergency medicine and associate research scientist at the Center for Ergonomics.
