Meet Your Mentor: Amanda Dudley
Amanda is the Program Manager at the U-M, School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology,
Center for Social Epidemiology and Population Health (CSEPH). Amanda's primary responsibilities
in CSEPH are the coordination of resources for ongoing and pending research projects
under the umbrella of the center. In her role as program manager, it is sometimes
a challenge to ensure that the diverse needs of multiple projects are met in a timely
manner. Meeting these challenges and facilitating the success of the projects require
the ability to listen, engage and communicate with persons at all levels of the university,
as well as external sponsors and collaborators. Being able to listen, engage and communicate
is essential in all roles, but when it is done well it is the hallmark of an effective
leader. As a FPHLP mentor, I am excited to learn from your experiences and contribute
to your path to becoming an effective leader.
