Meet Your Mentor: Tricia Piechowski
Tricia Piechowski is an Administrative Program Director of the Community Engagement
Program at the Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research (MICHR) within the
University of Michigan's Medical School Office of Research. She works toward building
equitable partnerships between community and academic partners in research. She develops
trainings, creates funding mechanisms, provides consultations, and engages in other
infrastructure building activities for partnership development to support community-engaged
research. She has served as the Chair of the Community-Based Public Health Caucus
(CBPHC) of the American Public Health Association (APHA) and is currently an academic
program planner for the Caucus. She chairs the Washtenaw County DHHS Board and is
active member of the Washtenaw County Success by 6 Great Start Parent Coalition. She
has an MSW in interpersonal practice with children and youth and MPH from the University
of Michigan in Health Behavior & Health Education and an MA in African Studies from
UCLA.
