Join our session to learn more about how the School of Public Health Student Life team can support you!
Our team at the School of Public Health is dedicated to fostering student success through a variety of avenues. From personalized support through student success coaching to engagement opportunities with student organizations, we strive to empower our students to make the most of their experience at Michigan. Our programming emphasizes well-being, academic achievement, and leadership development. Additionally, we prioritize creating inclusive spaces through social events and informative newsletters tailored for first-generation and international students. Our overarching goal is to cultivate a sense of community and provide vital support networks beyond the classroom environment.
We will also be joined by our embedded CAPS counselor so you can learn more about UM's mental health resources, including Counseling and Psychology Services, the Embedded Psychologist at SPH, and the numerous mental health resources provided to students.

Join the Careers Team to learn about all the services and resources available to you as SPH students! During this session you will meet the SPH Careers Team - Associate Director Ari Renda, Career Services Coordinator Maddie Houston, and Employer Engagement Coordinator Neika White and learn how to:
- Search for Internships, Fellowships, and Jobs using our SPH Career Gateway
- Access our Career Preparation Resources on topics such as Resume, Cover Letter, and Interviews
- Schedule a Career Coaching Appointment to talk about your career interests, goals, and application processes
- Register for Networking & Preparation Events including Public Health career fairs, employer presentations, and career preparation workshops on topics like internship search, job search, and networking

Join the Office of Global Public Health to learn more about opportunities to gain global health knowledge, skills and experience while pursuing a master’s level public health degree. Whether you are interested in an international internship or opportunities to engage on campus, this workshop will provide you with resources and information to prepare you for your time at Michigan Public Health.

Create Your Unique Name
Your uniqname is the key to accessing all the resources you need at U-M. You need it to get your @umich email address, access the School of Public Health's intranet, and register for classes. To create your uniqname:
- Confirm your enrollment in Wolverine Access and pay your enrollment deposit.
- After confirming your enrollment and paying your deposit, you will receive an email inviting you to set up your uniqname.
- You will need your UMID number, which can be found in your admission letter.
After creating your uniqname, stop using your U-M Friend account. Check your U-M email regularly for announcements and more information as you prepare for the fall. If you require assistance, please contact ITS.
After you’ve created your uniqname, you’ll be able to access the Admitted Student Canvas Page. Throughout the summer, we’ll be sharing information and helpful resources for incoming, residential graduate students.
