Mateen Zafer, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager

Mateen Zafer serves as the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Program Manager, having joined the SPH community in May 2022. He earned a Master of Social Work from New York University while serving as the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions. Most recently, Mateen served as the Senior Assistant Director for Outreach & Access as well as the Coordinator of Mentorship & Diversity Initiatives at Colorado College. Born in Mumbai, India and having grown up in Chicago, Mateen is excited to return to the Midwest, bringing thirteen years of experience in higher education and a deep commitment to social change, equity, and empowerment to the University of Michigan School of Public Health community.
