Heart disease is the leading cause of death among African Americans, and our organization is committed to addressing this critical public health issue. This event combines physical activity, nutrition education, and health screenings in an engaging format to raise awareness and promote heart health. Key event components: Silent Disco: Encourages exercise through music, with two DJs offering Rap, Afrobeat, and R&B channels for a personalized experience. Healthy Eating Education: In partnership with the Nutrition Club, we’ll provide heart-healthy meal plans, recipes, and catered vegan/vegetarian dishes. Tabitha Brown cookbooks will be given away. Health Screenings: Lambda Chi Alpha Beta Chapter, Chi Eta Phi Sorority Incorporated will conduct blood pressure checks, and participants will receive resources on diet, exercise, and stress management. This event empowers students with practical tools to prevent heart disease while fostering a sense of community through music, movement, and education. By making heart health accessible and engaging, we aim to inspire lasting, positive lifestyle changes.
