spruhaTraining: Postdoctoral fellowship at the Center of Opioid Epidemiology and Policy at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine, Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, MPH in Epidemiology from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.

Research Focus: Her research focuses on the ongoing opioid crisis and rapidly shifting cannabis legalization landscape, particularly on reducing health disparities. Her cannabis work examines the intended and unintended downstream consequences of legalization on racial disparities in the criminal legal system, substance use, and mental health outcomes. Additionally, her work involves the evaluation of both state- and local-level laws and their impact on reducing harms related to the opioid crisis. Methodologically, she focuses on the measurement and analytic issues associated with evaluating laws at all levels (federal, state, and local).
