Come learn about this and more at our Public Health Perspectives Speaker Series with Dorian Ballard, Community Engagement Manager with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Dorian Ballard (she/her) is a Community Engagement Manager with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. She is also a Contractor at GOODSTOCK consulting where she consults on Community Health Needs Assessment work for South Carolina hospitals. In both roles, she works to identify community needs and provides capacity building for organizations striving to meet those needs. Dorian graduated from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2017 with a B.A in economics with a minor in African Studies, and in 2021 with a Masters in Health Services Administration. After graduation she completed an administrative fellowship at Medical University of South Carolina in hospital finance and public health. In this role, she operationalized 7 rural health clinics that expanded healthcare access to over 2500 individuals and managed 9 community health programs centered around chronic disease management, maternal/child health, and cancer prevention. She is a member of the Michigan Chapter of American College Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Healthcare Executives. Outside of work, she volunteers with Midnight Golf, a program that prepares Detroit youth for college, on Beaumont's Patient Family Advisory Council, and through various programs with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
