Faculty Profile
Kirsten Herold, PhD
- Lecturer IV
Dr. Herold came to the School of Public Health with a background in English Studies.
She is interested in helping Michigan Public Health students at all levels learn to
express themselves more effectively in the belief that clear writing leads to clear
thinking and vice versa. She works one-on-one on any professional writing task with
students at all levels -- undergraduate Public Health students, master's and doctoral
students -- as well as post docs, faculty, and staff. She also does outreach and occasional
workshops for School of Public Health classes and student groups. In addition, she
is the President of the Lecturers' Union (LEO), the Union representing nontenuretrack
instructional faculty on all three University of Michigan campuses.
