2017 Service Day

Thank you to our more than 200 volunteers who spent Saturday, April 1 volunteering across Southeastern Michigan. The SPH community -- including students, alumni, staff, faculty and family members -- provided hundreds of hours of service at eight different sites. Our volunteers were able to provide service in many different ways. Please check the site descriptions below for more information.

Thank you, and we are looking forward to Service Day 2018!

To honor the 75th anniversary of the School of Public Health and its commitment to serving the public good, SPH will hold a Service Day on April 1st, 2017.

The inaugural Service Day will connect SPH citizens - including students, alumni, faculty and staff - with the purpose of public health: promoting health and engaging the community. Groups and individuals will volunteer in their local communities while representing the School of Public Health, and connecting with another. Service Day is centered around a project that can make a difference in one day in local communities.

We will also be holding a "Kickoff Dinner" on Friday, March 31 beginning at 5:30 here at SPH. We will all enjoy an evening together before going off the next day to separate service sites -- plus there will be food and the chance to pick up your Service Day swag!

Please read the descriptions of volunteer opportunities in Southeast Michigan and use the registration link below to sign up for service, and to RSVP for the Kickoff Dinner! If you cannot join us in Southeast Michigan on April 1, join the conversation on social using #Servingfor75.

Registration is now closed.
