This year’s Blood Battle against Ohio State University takes place from October 25 – November 22.
On August 7, 2023, the FDA updated their eligibility guidelines on blood donation (replacing a prior policy that banned some donors based on their sexual practices) with an individualized risk assessment for all donors. While this is a significant step in the right direction, we want to acknowledge the harm caused by earlier policies and note that additional work is still needed.
