Our application for summer 2025 traineeships has now closed. 

Before you begin your application, you will want to gather the following:

  • Your transcript(s) (unnoficial are acceptable) in PDF format
  • Your up-to-date resume or CV in PDF format
  • Two letters of recommendation, at least one from a faculty member
    • Letters must be emailed directly from your recommenders to [email protected] by the deadline.
    • The email subject line should include the applicant's name
    • In the online application form, we will ask for the name, title, email address and phone number of your two recommenders
  • You may wish to prepare responses to the following short essay questions in advance of starting your application (character limits listed are inclusive of spaces):
    • Please describe your knowledge of, and interest in, health disparities. (2,000 characters or less)
    • Please tell us about your long-term career goals, and how participation in the MHRT program will help you achieve those goals. (3,000 characters or less)
    • Please describe your most relevant research experiences related to your projects of interests (laboratory, field, community engagement, quantitative, software, qualitative, etc). Please include your specific role in the research project or team, and the duration of the experience. If you do not have any research experience, please describe any relevant professional or academic experience. (3,000 characters or less)
    • Prior travel experience is NOT required for consideration for the MHRT Program. If applicable, please describe any previous travel outside of the United States. We would be interested in hearing about work, education, research, service learning, personal travel, or any other experiences you may have bad even if brief. (1,000 characters or less)

Deadline:

The deadline for the MHRT program is typically in mid-January.
