Who Are Our Students?

The Executive Master's program in Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health is for professionals who wish to remain employed while obtaining master's-level training to advance their careers. Many professionals who attend the program are shifting in a new direction, such as from clinical work to management or health policy.

As participants must have been employed in a responsible position for at least five years prior to enrollment, the age range and level of experience found in the Executive Master's classes are higher than those of the residential, full-time programs at Michigan Public Health. The average age of the cohort is around 40 and over 50% of the students hold graduate degrees (MD/DO, MBA, PhD, MS, JD, and other).

Our students are future leaders in the field of health management and policy. We take pride in our cohorts' enthusiasm and intelligence.
