Additional Engagement Opportunities

In addition to our Public Health Career Fairs, the SPH Careers Office provides opportunities for employers to engage with undergraduate and graduate students through in-person and virtual employer presentations and 1:1 meetings, as well as in-person tabling. Employers often take advantage of the opportunity to meet with students virtually or in-person in order to recruit them for specific positions. Our office is available to support you in identifying the type of engagement that will best align with your goals.

Once you have determined the type of engagement event you would like to host, our office can provide the following:

  • Guidance on setting up your event in the Careers Gateway
  • Reservation of rooms for on-campus events
  • Creation of zoom rooms for virtual presentations
  • Promotion of your event to relevant student audiences through newsletters,
  • email announcements, and features
  • Information to students on how to prepare for the session
  • Reminder emails to student regarding their participation in the event
  • Welcome and introductions for on-campus and virtual presentations
  • Follow up to registered students, including contact information, job postings, and application deadlines

When hosting events, we ask for employers to provide the following:

  • Clear information on application requirements and qualifications
  • Clear recruitment deadlines and interview timeframes
  • Insights into your organization's mission, values, and inclusion practices
  • Overview of the position(s) and example projects
  • Designated time for Questions & Answers

1:1 Employer & Student Meetings

1:1 Employer and Student Meetings provide employers the opportunity to meet with students for 10 - 20 min conversations in order to connect individually with students interested in working at their organization. During these sessions, employers will share about their organization and open positions and students will share about their interests and skills.

Virtual Engagement Opportunities

If your company is hosting a virtual webinar or workshop, you are invited to share the details with us at [email protected] and we will advertise the events to our students.

On Campus Tabling

In addition to Employer Presentations and Employer & Student 1:1 Meetings, we also offer employers the opportunity to sit at a table in the lobby of SPH I where you can pass out information or talk with students who are walking through the lobby. You might choose to add tabling to your visit to campus for an on-campus presentation or 1:1 student meetings in order to increase the number of students that you reach. Our team will reserve and make sure the table is set up for you.

For more information and to set up tabling, please email our Employer Engagement Coordinator, Neika White at [email protected].
