Dr. Norman Sartorius is the President of the International Association for the Improvement of Mental Health Programs, and is the former director of the Division of Mental Health at the World Health Organization. This lecture will examine the major social and economic trends affecting the practice of medicine and the field of psychiatry, including the implications of these trends for efforts to provide care that addresses both mental and physical aspects of health.
