In response to the wonderful ideas and suggestions that were generated last semester, we’d like to invite folks to think more intentionally about activities that could grow and deepen accessibility at SPH! We hope that this will be a creative space that will allow us to go beyond traditional accessibility benchmarks. We’ll be introducing concepts from the Critical Access Mapping Project to open the space for generative and creative thinking. A note on the use of the word “crip”: Crip is a reclaimed word used in expansive ways within many disabled communities. It’s a verb, a noun, an adjective, and more! Disability Studies scholar Alison Kafer invites us to understand “crip time” as “bend[ing] the clock to meet disabled bodies and minds” instead of bending disabled bodies and minds to meet the clock. Learn more about the use of the word “crip.”
