Michigan League, 911 N University Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

This national conference is a great opportunity for students, post-doctoral fellows and early career injury researchers to highlight their injury control and safety promotion research and network with leaders in the injury field. In addition to the regular programs we have created two high-yield conference events specifically geared towards students and early career injury researchers.

Activities for Students and Young Professionals: *Careers in Injury Science will be a lunch time panel discussion on Tuesday, September 19th from 11:45AM - 1:00 PM. This dynamic session will provide an informal setting for students and young professionals to hear from and interact with injury scientists in academia, government, non-profit, and private sector positions. This will be followed by informal discussions at smaller breakout tables, providing an opportunity for students and young professionals to ask questions and seek individualized career advice.

*Nurturing a Successful Academic/Early Professional Publishing Career will be round table discussion on Tuesday, September 19th from 4:45PM - 6:00PM. The aim of this round table is to provide an opportunity for students and early career professionals to closely interact and discuss with the editors of leading injury research journals the issues of identifying the right journal for your manuscript, writing informative abstracts, reporting statistical information: do's and don'ts, and how to address reviewer comments. This session is aimed at enhancing the capacity on improving the writing skills of early career injury researcher.
