What is Service Day?
The School of Public Health exists to help our neighbors near and far. Service Day puts that into practice with one mass day of volunteering.
Service Day connects SPH citizens - including students, alumni, faculty and staff - by promoting health and engaging the community. Groups and individuals will volunteer in their local communities while representing the School of Public Health. Service Day is centered around a project that can make a difference in one day in local communities. Examples include volunteering at a food bank, painting a community center, and planting a community garden.
Service Day will provide students with an engaging and rewarding day, provide alums an opportunity to connect and build a Michigan community away from Ann Arbor, and provide faculty and staff an opportunity to support their local communities and connect outside of the office.
Service Day will be Saturday, March 24th, 2018. March 24th falls just before the start of Public Health Week worldwide (April 2-8).
