Please join the School of Public Health Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program, and Division of Public Safety and Security for a self-defense workshop. The self-defense workshop takes a holistic approach to self-protection, emphasizing awareness and assertiveness skills as well as physical and verbal strategies to counter violence. The goal is to leave you better equipped to deal with everything from harassment to potentially violent people to sexual assault. Participants will take part in verbal exercises, physical drills and discussion. Participants should wear comfortable clothing. If you have any questions or if accommodations are needed to access the facility or the content of the presentation, please contact Nichole Burnside (washingn@umich.edu) as soon as possible. The workshop is sponsored by the School of Public Health Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program in partnership with DPSS and will count towards 1.5 Continuing Professional Education (CPEs) credits.
