Over the last few decades, international student admissions in American Colleges and Universities have increased significantly. Key differences in classroom cultures and learning styles around the world mean that these students commonly encounter considerable academic, social, and cultural challenges in American schools. It’s important that faculty and staff understand and recognize the particular needs of these students, and offer support through meaningful assistance. This workshop will focus on some of the most important obstacles and challenges experienced by international students, and recommend some techniques for fostering their success at SPH. This session is recommended for anyone who works with students from other countries. This event is suitable for both faculty and staff, and is eligible for 1 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit. Lunch will be provided. Please Register at least 24 hours in advance.
