Shakia W.L. Jackson serves as a Health Educator and as a Coalition & Community Engagement Coordinator at the County of Orange, Health Care Agency, a county health department in Southern California. Within the Health Promotion and Community Planning Division, Shakia plans, implements and evaluates tobacco use prevention interventions. This entails her managing a countywide tobacco prevention community coalition and four citywide work groups. Her work aims to prevent the initiation of tobacco use, promote tobacco cessation, protect the public from secondhand smoke exposure, and eliminate tobacco-related health disparities across the county. Shakia is a two-time University of Michigan, Ann Arbor graduate earning her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2015 and Master of Public Health in Health Behavior and Health Education in 2017.
