This virtual, interactive conference aims to amplify the community of providers engaging in health justice work in SE Michigan, and equip current and future providers with tools to serve Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. This year’s theme is “Home,” a multifaceted concept that can evoke closeness in some and distance for others. For healthcare providers who inherently work in a realm of vulnerability with patients, it is crucial to understand the unique experiences of “Home” for BIPOC patients with intersecting identities. Join us for this full-day conference in which we will utilize intersectional frameworks to explore what it feels like to be ‘home,’ and use this understanding to advocate for liberation and justice for BIPOC communities within health systems.
