SAPAC Services Overview & Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Misconduct Workshop

In this workshop provided by U-M's Sexual Assault Prevention & Awareness Center (SAPAC), participants will gain a comprehensive overview of services and resources that SAPAC offers to survivors and their allies. Participants will also learn about common reactions to sexual violence and trauma and how to support a survivor and connect them to resources after a disclosure has occurred. This workshop also provides participants with an opportunity to talk through specific relevant scenarios in pairs, so that they are able to practice their responses and next steps.

Taught by: Heather Colohan, LMSW (she/hers) is a U-M Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center (SAPAC) Educator and Program Manager for Community Outreach & Systems Advocacy. She provides support and educational workshops to students, staff and faculty affected by sexual assault, and supervises Raise the Bar; a program that works with local bars and transportation services to provide tailored workshops on sexual assault and bystander intervention.

Rossi Clark (They/Them/Theirs) is a graduate student in the School of Social Work, working towards their Masters in the Welfare of Children and Families pathway. They currently serve in the role as Community Engagement Coordinator at The University of Michigan's Sexual Assault Prevention & Awareness Center (SAPAC), coordinating their Raise the Bar Program. Rossi's passion work is as a LGBTQIA advocate with a focus on youth development and advancement. Since 2018, they have worked with organizations such as Michigan Ability Partners and Ozone House to provide accessible and affirming services to underrepresented populations in Washtenaw County.
