The opioid epidemic continues to impact the United States, and concerns grow with increases in substance use and overdoses amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Tribal communities, in particular, have felt the impact of opioids and other substances. Dr. Christina Denslinger will discuss how the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Epidemiology Center supports the work of Tribal and Urban Indian communities to prevent and reduce substance use and overdose and improve health and well-being. Several programs and projects highlighting opioid response efforts will be explored.
