What does networking even mean?
Join SPH Careers to learn how networking is simply relationship building and how to get comfortable with it. We will review strategies for networking via LinkedIn, Michigan Public Health Connect, and at events like career fairs and employer sessions. We will review some tips on how to leverage your internships or recent opportunities. Part of the session will be how to craft messages when reaching out to folks, and how to write follow up messages and stay connected with connections over time.
We want you to feel comfortable and excited to connect with your Umich community, alums, and more! Start to build your network as the winter season approaches.
You should attend this workshop if you are:
- An undergraduate or graduate SPH student Looking to maximize opportunities to engage with alumni, past employers, and future employers
- Feeling apprehensive about networking and how to start or continue interacting with connections
What you’ll gain by attending:
- An understanding of the basics of employee engagement An understanding of how to prep for the before, during, and after of employee engagement sessions
- A one page resource that reviews maximizing engagement with employers and recruiters
