Applying to a Ph.D. program? Thinking about what to include to be interesting and qualified? Uncertain about what the graduate schools might be looking for? If so, this workshop is for you. This will be facilitated by Dr. Kirsten Herold from the SPH Writing Lab
The workshop will cover the Statement of Purpose and personal statement/ DEI statements, primarily for Ph.D. applications. We will go over some of the most common Do’s and Don’t’s and look at some samples to see what makes for an effective statement.
The goal is to help you write the most effective personal statement to help your chances of acceptance. Bring your questions, possible drafts, and/or instructions from your graduate program(s) of choice.
NOTE: This workshop is primarily targeted to 2nd year Master’s students planning to apply to Ph.D. programs this year. It will be offered twice, once on Zoom (10/26) and once in person (11/11).
