This session, led by Disability Equity accessibility specialists, will be an informative workshop on creating and managing accessible websites. This session will provide a practical introduction to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), along with best practices for web content editors, including writing effective alt text, creating descriptive links, and ensuring sufficient color contrast.
Participants will also explore key structural practices for accessible web design, such as:
- using headings
- page regions
- tables
- lists
- and other elements
We’ll discuss how web accessibility supports users who rely on keyboard navigation and highlight useful accessibility tools for both content editors and developers.
No technical experience or familiarity with HTML is required. However, some concepts may be especially relevant for those who work frequently in web design, development, or digital content management.
