Join this workshop hosted by Disability Equity Office accessibility specialists to learn how to build accessibility into Adobe InDesign documents from the start, shifting from retroactive remediation to a “born accessible” workflow.

We’ll briefly discuss key accessibility regulations and what they mean for your documents, then cover design decisions that make a big impact, such as color contrast, font choice, layout, and content organization. The core of this session will be a guided demonstration of InDesign features that support an accessible output, including:

  • text box threading
  • image anchors and alt text
  • paragraph style
  • export options
  • and much more

We’ll also show you how to export your content to a tagged PDF and provide resources for doing final checks and clean up in Acrobat. As a participant, you’ll receive access to a sample InDesign file to practice applying accessibility features along with additional resources for continued learning. There will also be time for Q&A.
