Status Among Michigan Adults With Prior COVID-19 Illness, 2022-2023
- Approximately 75% of adults with prior COVID-19 illness received at least one dose
of a COVID-19 vaccine.

54 compared to those aged 55 and older, had lower education compared to higher education,
or had lower household income compared to higher household income.
- Adults with prior COVID-19 illness who lived in rural areas were less likely to be
vaccinated for COVID-19 than adults who lived in urban areas.
- The most common reason for vaccine hesitancy was health concerns about vaccination,
followed by low subjective risk of getting infected with COVID-19, systemic mistrust
in governments or vaccine developers, and information deficits of vaccination.
- Top reasons for vaccine hesitancy differed slightly by sociodemographic characteristics,
such as sex, race and ethnicity, educational attainment, and household income.
