Postdoctoral Fellow
Katherine D. McLean, PhD
- PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of Michigan, 2022
- BS in Biology, Westminster College, 2016
Dr. McLean’s research focuses on pathogen ecology and evolution. During their doctoral studies, Dr. McLean investigated drivers of pathogen transmission and host evolution in multi-parasite study systems. Their current work investigates the impacts of waning host immunity and evolving immune escape on SARS-CoV-2 dynamics in the state of Michigan. Furthermore, Dr. McLean just joined the Department of Epidemiology as well as the Institute for Global Change Biology at the School for Environment and Sustainability as a postdoctoral research fellow where they will be modeling the impacts of climate change on SARS-CoV-2 dynamics in humans and non-human animals.
