During Spring Break, 6 students from PUBHLTH 615 will work on projects within the Grenadian Ministries.

Ministry of Education

Students, Rachel Bittman, Hannah Eck and Alicia Ramos, have developed a focus group guide and will facilitate discussions with youth to identify risk behaviors among secondary school adolescents with emphasis on drug use, sexual activity, teenage violence, and suicide.  The outcomes will inform the Ministry for programs and interventions. By the end of the week, the students will have conducted focus groups, analyzed data, developed a presentation of findings, and provided a final report to the Ministry that will include recommendations.

Ministry of Social Development and Housing

Students, Erin Bagazinski, Aaron Hopkins, and Lara Khadr, have developed key stakeholder interview guides and will facilitate interviews that seek to better understand Grenada's aging population.  The outcomes of this project will inform Ministry of Social Development and Housing which has a mandate to serve the needs of Grenada's elderly population.  The work will be completed by an SPH intern this summer.  By the end of the week, the students will have conducted interviews, analyzed data, developed a presentation of findings, and provide a final report to the Ministry that will include recommendations.
