Ph.D. Student Profile
Christopher Cadham, BA, MPH
- PhD Candidate (2025)
- Cognate: Operations Research & Decision Science
Education
MPH, Columbia University (2017)
BA, McGill University (2014)
Research Interests & Projects
- Equity-informative cost-effectiveness analysis
- Computational modelling
- Cancer prevention and control
- Tobacco control
Chris's research interests focus on the use of computational models to evaluate the public health and economic impact of health policies and interventions. His research is primarily focused in the areas of cancer prevention and control, tobacco control, and chronic lung diseases (COPD and IPF). His dissertation research advances methods for incorporating population preferences into economic evaluations of health care interventions, specifically looking at national preferences around the equitable allocation of health resources. This project will demonstrate how using novel methods for cost-effectiveness analysis can improve resource allocation and policymaking by ensuring value determinations reflect population preferences. His dissertation is funded by the PhRMA Foundation and the Canadian Institutes for Health Research. His work has been published in notable journals including Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Tobacco Control, Medical Decision Making, and Value in Health. He is an active member of the HSOP community having served on the program's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and Social Committee. He is currently a representative for the Department of Health Management and Policy on the School of Public Health's School Wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and is the Operations Lead for the Health Equity Research Special Interest Group at ISPOR.
