Additional Information

As part of the student services team, Andrea Hill provides private support meetings for students experiencing challenges during their graduate studies, offering a bridge between the department and the health/mental health resources available. She works to enhance and improve the student experience by creating events and activities that support well-being and multicultural community.

Andrea received a master’s degree in social work/mental health from the University of Michigan in 2018. During her time as a U-M student, Andrea interned at UHS - Wolverine Wellness, providing BASICS/IMEP sessions and wellness coaching. Prior to returning to school, she spent twenty-four years as a clinical massage therapist, with a bachelor's in sports medicine/exercise science, running her own practice after working in physical therapy and chiropractic settings. She was a long-time contributor to women’s wellness retreats for breast cancer survivors and her experience working with various forms of trauma inspired her move to social work. Outside of SPH, Andrea currently works as a trauma-informed psychotherapist. She enjoys working with students individually, as well as creating opportunities for students to support each other personally and professionally.
