Carlos Mendes de Leon
Professor of Global Public Health
The main goal of my global public research is to address major population health challenges in countries that are going through economic and epidemiologic transitions. The primary focus of this research is on non-communicable diseases (NCD) and other aging-related health conditions. My collaborative research and service activities in these areas center on countries in the Middle-East North Africa (MENA) region and South-East Asia. An important objective is to develop sustainable collaborative relationships with academic and governmental partners and to contribute to capacity building related to public health programs in these regions.
