Typical Program Timeline: 

October:

• U-M MHRT Program online application typically opens

November:

• Information session typically held over Zoom, providing program and site overview, and sharing perspectives of past trainees.

January:

• Application deadline is typically mid-January

February:

• Early February- Interview invitations typically extended to select candidates
• Mid- to late-February: Placement decisions typically made 

March and April:

• Pre-traineeship training, health and safety requirements and travel planning begins

May:

• Trainees attend in-person orientation in Ann Arbor 
• Trainees depart for sites 

June & July:

• Research placements begin
• Trainees participate in weekly Journal Club meetings 

August:

• Trainees depart upon reaching a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 12 weeks at their training sites 

September: 

• Post-traineeship requirements and reports are completed
