University of Michigan Wins 2016 NAHSE Case Competition!

Health Management and Policy students: Mr. Christian Balcer, Ms. Cachet Colvard and Mr. Vaughn Williams received first place at the 2016 National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) Annual Education Conference Everett V. Fox Student Case Competition, held October 11-14, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. The three-member student team competed against 22 other teams to win the first place title in this year's competition. Team Captain, Ms. Colvard, kept the team focused and precise during the three rounds. Overall, this is the 5th first place win (2005-2007, 2015-2016) for HMP since the establishment of the competition in 1996.

The case topic for this year was delivering mental health services in San Diego County. The UM Team, known as CVC Consulting (or Team F), performed at a level that is indicative of the Michigan Difference. The rest of the teams were great as well: 2nd Place - George Washington, 3rd Place - UNC, 4th Place - VCU, and 5th Place – Rush.
