As I prepare for Grenada, I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the local community on a project that aligns with my passion for public health and health equity. What excites me most is the chance to work alongside the Grenadian people and learn from their perspectives and experiences. Being in the community and forming genuine connections is not just a part of the project; it's what I look forward to the most. This hands-on involvement will provide invaluable insights into public health challenges and solutions that go beyond classroom learning.

I am beyond thrilled about partnering with the Government of Grenada and its Ministry of Social Development to assess the nation's readiness for disability access. This project aligns with my commitment to initiatives that strive for equitable, inclusive care. I look forward to learning how public health policies can be developed to meet the needs of marginalized communities, ensuring everyone has access to essential services. Engaging with local stakeholders—government officials, civil society organizations, and persons with disabilities (PWDs)—will offer rich, diverse perspectives that will enhance our collective understanding of disability access.

While I am eager to contribute to this project, I acknowledge some apprehensions about my limited experience in policy work. However, I approach this as a valuable learning opportunity to grow and contribute meaningfully.

As I dive into this project, I am filled with gratitude and anticipation for May. This collaboration in Grenada represents a meaningful advancement in my journey as a public health advocate, and I am excited to learn from and grow with the community.
