My research examines how food systems influence the nutrition and health status of vulnerable populations in low- and middle-income countries. I focus on two specific areas: 1) understanding how biodiversity within agricultural systems influences the quality of diets of farming households; and 2) examining the role of key food systems determinants (namely, urban and rural food environments, food insecurity, and food value chains) in influencing undernutrition, overweight and the co-occurrence of these conditions among women and children.
