  I AM FPHLP 2022: Hammad Baqai

  Hammad Baqai was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2022 cohort. He is currently a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park majoring in Public Health Science and Neurobiology & Physiology. During FPHLP 2022, Hammad interned with the Michigan Medicine Community Health Services.

  Lal Thangi was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2022 cohort. She is currently a senior at Iowa State University majoring in Kinesiology and Community & Public Health. During FPHLP 2022, Lal interned with Wayne County Health Department.

  Jillian Fuss was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2022 cohort. She is currently a senior at the University of Washington majoring in Medical Anthropology and Global Health and minoring in Microbiology. During FPHLP 2022, Jillian interned with Unified HIV Health and Beyond (Detroit).

  Ariel Le was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2022 cohort. She is currently a junior at Georgetown University majoring in Human Science and minoring in Public Health. During FPHLP 2022, Ariel interned with Washtenaw County Health Department.

  Tsegab Arega was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2022 cohort. She is currently a senior at Augustana University majoring in Public Health, Political Science and Sociology. During FPHLP 2022, Tsegab interned with Michigan Medicine.

  Abdulrahman Shawish was part of this year's Michigan FPHLP 2022 cohort. He is currently a senior at the University of Michigan-Dearborn majoring in Health and Human Services with a concentration in Public Health. During the FPHLP Summer of 2022, Abdulrahman Shawish interned with the Green Door Initiative.

  Ty’Shawn Hopkins was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2021 cohort. He is currently a senior at Misericordia University majoring in Medical & Health Humanities and Philosophy and minoring in Ethics. During FPHLP Summer of 2021, Ty’Shawn interned with Washtenaw County Health Department.

  Tavion Rogers was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2021 cohort. He is currently a senior at Misericordia University majoring in Political Science and Philosophy and minoring in Medical and Health Humanities. During FPHLP Summer of 2021, Tavion interned with Unified HIV Health and Beyond (Ypsilanti).

  Nina Pinto was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2021 cohort. She is a senior at Hampton University and is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Pre-Medicine. During the FPHLP Summer of 2021, Nina interned with Community Family Life Center (CFLC).

  Celeste Flores was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2021 cohort. She graduated in May 2021 from St. Mary's University with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciences and Sociology. During the FPHLP Summer of 2021, Flores interned with Henry Ford Health System.

  Pilar Jackson was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2021 cohort. She graduated in December 2021 from Temple University with her Bachelor of Science in Public Health. During FPHLP Summer of 2021, Pilar interned with Wayne County Health Department.

  Edith Mercado was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2021 cohort. She is currently a senior at Elmhurst University majoring in Biology and minoring in Environmental Studies, Spanish and Chemistry. During FPHLP Summer of 2021, Edith interned with Green Door Initiative.

  Jeremy Tang was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2021 cohort. He is currently a senior at Chapman University majoring in Health Sciences and minoring in Sociology. In his summer with FPHLP, he interned at ACESS.

  Mindy Tran was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2021 cohort. She is currently a senior at the University of Southern California (USC), studying Global Health. In Summer 2021, Mindy interned at Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley.

  I AM FPHLP 2019: Marina Alvarado

  Marina Alvarado was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2019 cohort. She is a recent graduate of California State Polytechnic University with a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology and a minor in Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies. In her FPHLP Summer of 2019, she interned at the La Vida at CHASS in Southwest Detroit, Michigan.

  Ali Fakih was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2019 cohort. He is a graduate of Wayne State University with a bachelor's degree in public health Honors and a minor in Sociology. During his FPHLP Summer, he interned at the Michigan Medicine Community Health Services in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

  Kai Le was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2019 cohort. She will be graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Urban Planning and Communication Technology. In her FPHLP Summer of 2019, she interned at the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS).

  Michaela Khoussine was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2019 cohort. She graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a degree in Health and Exercise Science. In Summer 2019, she interned at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital where she worked with an organization called SRSLY.

  Diana Peña was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2019 cohort. She graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with her Bachelor's degree in Public Health and a minor in Studio Art. In Summer 2019, she interned at Washtenaw County Health Department Emergency Preparedness Division in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

  Morgan Harvey was part of the Michigan FPHLP 2019 cohort. She will graduate this spring from Xavier University of Louisiana with her Bachelor's degree in Public Health Sciences and a minor in Women's Studies. In Summer 2019, she interned at ACCESS Community Health and Research Center in Dearborn, Michigan.

  Kevin Asirifi was part of the 2019 Michigan FPHLP cohort. He graduated this past year from Bridgewater State University with his Bachelor's degree in Public Health. Last summer, Kevin interned at the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety & Security and Michigan Medicine Emergency Management.

  I AM FPHLP 2019: Marcus Sherman

  Marcus Sherman was part of the 2019 FPHLP cohort. He graduated from Bethune-Cookman University with a degree in Health & Exercise Science with a minor in Gerontology in May 2020. For his field placement, Marcus worked with The Center of Sexuality and Health Disparities as a qualitative research assistant.

  I AM FPHLP 2019: Mohima Iqbal

  Mohima Iqbal was a part of the 2019 FPHLP cohort. She graduated from Stony Brook University with a degree in Health Science and a concentration of Community Health in May 2020. For her field placement, Mohima worked with the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research.

  Cheldy Martinez was part of the 2019 Michigan FPHLP cohort. She will graduate 2021 from the University of Southern California with her Bachelor's degree with a major in Global Health and a minor in Gender Studies. Last summer, Cheldy interned at CHASS/LA Vida in Detroit.

  I AM FPHLP 2019: Chiara DeSantis

  Chiara DeSantis was part of the 2019 Michigan FPHLP cohort. She graduated this March from University of Washington with her Bachelor's degree with a dual major in Public Health with a concentration of Global Health and Spanish and a minor in Diversity. Last summer, Chiara interned at the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security Special Victims Unit in Ann Arbor, MI.

  Gabriel Cortez was part of the 2019 Michigan FPHLP cohort. He graduated last December from Texas A&M University with his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Public Health. Last summer, Gabriel interned at the Senior Regional Collaborative in Detroit.

  I AM FPHLP 2019: Amy Lochli

  Amy Lochli was part of the 2019 Michigan FPHLP cohort. She recently graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with her Bachelor's degree in Biology, Society, & Environment and a minor in Population Studies & Public Health. Last summer, Amy interned within the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research as a research assistant and participated in the analysis of research data from the Pacific Islander Health Study.

  I AM FPHLP 2019: Allison Smith

  Allison Smith was part of the 2019 Michigan FPHLP cohort. She is a graduating senior majoring in Public Health from Georgia State University. Last summer Allison interned within the Maternal and Child Health Division of the Detroit Health Department.

  Ethan Yau was part of the 2019 FPHLP cohort. He is a Senior majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Health Diversity at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Last summer Ethan interned at the Detroit Parent Network.

  Lydia Holland was part of the 2019 FPHLP cohort. She is a Junior majoring in Biology and minoring in Public Health at Mississippi University for Women. Last summer, Lydia interned at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital.

  Karina Ruiz Lopez was part of the 2019 FPHLP cohort. She is a Senior majoring in Public Health with a focus on Health Promotion and Health Behavior at Oregon State University.
